What is indie pop?
Indie pop is a genre that originates from independent, do-it-yourself bands, that consist of small fan groups and have possibly released their music to small, independent record labels. This genre of music is often described to not suit mainstream audiences due to their themes within lyrics. Indie pop music is becoming more and more popular amongst teenagers and adults within the recent years. This is mostly due to a surge in popularity in the internet, due to websites such as; YouTube discovering talent and music festivals promoting them.
